I'm a paper plate pusher.
People always say, “Write what you know.”…Well, I’ve known myself for 24 years now and I STILL don’t know what to write here. I guess I’ll start with this:
Hi, I’m Fel.
My name is Felicia and I love to eat. I love to eat a lot. More recently I’ve come to realize, because I eat so much, I forget what I’ve eaten. Thus, the idea behind The Food Ledger was born.
———-
Before I delve any further, here’s just a little background about yours truly:
I’ve always had a fondness for food and a desire to try new cuisines. I typically blame my mother for my insatiable appetite (That’s what happens when you eat French pastries every day while carrying me in womb!) but I can’t deny that my career has also promoted this “hobby” of mine at an early age.
As you may have guessed, I work for Corporate America (Really? 24 and dining at Michelin restaurants on a regular basis? Gotta work for The Man.) and I’m currently in public accounting.
———-
…Which brings us back to The Food Ledger.
Do you get it now? General ledger, Food ledger? The Food Ledger is to “account for every bite”? (I know. Har har har. Forgive me, I like my word play.)
But yes, The Food Ledger is a way for me to remember and document those special meals so – a year from now, two years from now, however long – I’ll have something to remember each meal by.
Now comes the disclaimer: I don’t claim to know about food. I don’t have the palate of a Michelin reviewer, I never went to culinary school, I don’t have a professional kitchen at home. I’m just a girl who loves to eat. If you’re okay with that, well then, there’s only one thing left to say…
Welcome to The Food Ledger! Thanks for stopping by.
